Port Mansfield Lady Angler Fishing Tournament 2006
1st Mother/Daughter team to win together. Nancy Glaze - Grand Champion Bay Winner 13.8 lbs Ashley Clarke - Grand Champion Bay Runner - Up with 13.4 lbs Ashley also won 2nd place trout Nancy Glaze also won Grand Champion Bay and 2nd place trout for the Ladies Kingfish Tournament out of South Padre on the August 12th. Roy Lee Evans has literally waded through the lower Laguna Madre. Having fished this area since he could walk, he has the experience that gives him an advantage that pays off in "results". He knows the exact areas to fish, he knows the type of bottom you'll find (boggy or hard sand) and he knows how to catch fish...redfish, trout and flounder!

Capt. Roy Lee fishes north up to the land cut and south to Port Isabel, the entire lower Laguna Madre if needed. Roy Lee prefers to wade fish for reds & trout and mainly uses artificial bait which he furnishes his customers. Whatever type of fishing you like (wading or drifting), Capt. Roy Lee Evans will provide you with an exciting trip to suit your style of fishing.

Need some instruction? Not sure how to fish? Capt. Roy Lee can teach you and show you some of the techniques that help insure a successful day on the water...CATCHING trout and redfish.

Capt. Roy Lee Evans fishes out of a new 2004 20' Shallow Sport, with a NEW 2006 140 Suzuki 4-stroke. This boat features a raised console that allows the fishermen on board to see the fish Capt. Evans is stalking.

Roy Lee can fish up to four people and, if needed for larger groups, he can arrange for additional boats and guides.

Reservation and Rate Information

Guided Trip Rates:
$450 for 1-2 People
$500 for 1-3 $550 for 4 people
($100 Deposit Required at time of booking)

This is for a Full day of fishing. We leave the dock at daylight and fish to 1:00 or 2:00 pm, whatever it takes. Artificial baits furnished. Live bait at additional charge.
If you need rods & reels, Capt. Evans can furnish them.
(Be sure to let him know in advance)

Reservations - Deposits:
Please make your reservations as far in advance as possible. Most of my bookings occur months in advance, however, days become available due to last minute cancellations and rescheduling. A deposit of $100.00 per day is required at the time of booking. The balance is due at the end of the last day fishing. The deposit is my insurance that you will show. If the trip is cancelled within two weeks of the first day of your booking your deposit is forfeited. If the trip is cancelled before the two week deadline, your deposit will be applied to any future bookings of the same year. If there are no dates available or agreeable to both parties, the deposit will be forfeited as it cannot be carried over to the following fishing season. No refunds.

Captain's Suggestions:
All you need to bring is your food & drinks which will be stored in the onboard ice chest. Other items: Sunglasses, cap or fishing hat, suitable boat-shoes and sunscreen are advised.
You must have a valid Texas Fishing License and Saltwater stamp.

Our Rentals (units A and B) at 111 South Shore are available while you are in the Port Mansfield area. For larger groups rent both units that will sleep 7 for more privacy and still at motel prices.

UNIT A:
Sleeps 4 persons. 4 twin beds (one is a pop up trundle). Can be made into a king with advance notice. Very clean with beautiful view of the bay, and great fenced in yard with shade trees, great for relaxing in the hammock. Barbecue pit, picnic table, satellite TV, and fully equipped kitchen. Plenty of boat parking on the driveway. Shared washer, dryer, and deep-freeze in laundry room.

UNIT B:
Sleeps 3 persons. 3 twin beds, TV - local channels only, full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, set of 4 dishes, glasses etc. Plenty of boat parking next to the house on the grass. Shared washer, dryer, and deep-freeze in laundry room.
